It was the evening of Friday, June 29th, 2024 on Church Street where Pride festivities were in full swing. There were tens of thousands of people who were on the street ready to party. The Church Street Garage had hired me to work on that night from 11PM until 4AM I arrived early and caught the tail end of the drag show. The energy in the air was electric. Everyone was happy and it was contagious. A Church Street staple, Divine Darlin’ was on stage with her partner in crime finishing up the drag show. The windows were rolled up so people could see and hear what was going on from the street.

The performers had a very large dildo that they used as a prop on the bar and one spectator tried to run in and steal it. The drag queens snapped into action and sent him away. 10 minutes later, he tried again, and Divine slammed him to the floor and he was escorted out by security.

My DJ station was an area on the end of the Bar where I connected with their sound equipment and my set began. The staff cleared away all the tables and chairs, closed up the windows and the party started. For the next 5 hours, I played high energy tunes in multiple genres including House, Hip Hop, R&B, Old School and more.

I had hired a videographer to document the night and he captured some great footage which he then compiled into a short. Enjoy.
